The Game App 10 Mio Tons is one tool of our Education Box #2030. More than ten million tons of plastic waste end up in the oceans every year. Marlene Käseberg and Timo Falcke (game designer): “10 Million Tons is not an ordinary game! Have you ever played a game and thought to yourself – I could build a really cool level, if I just had the chance to do so? 10 Million Tons allows you to not only play tons of levels from your friends or even people scattered all over the world, you can build your own levels too! You make your level segment really difficult to beat, but keep in mind that you have to beat your own level, before it can be uploaded and added to the game for everyone else to play. With the quiz function you can add interesting questions about plastic waste and your classmates have to answer them to get bonus points.” You take on the role of a turtle, fish or penguin and must now find a way through plastic littered ocean to survive.
