Virtual Panel Discussion: “Urban Gardening – Locals and fair Solutions for Global Challenges”
April 20, 2021, 12:00 – 14:00 (CET).
Connective Cities and the Berlin districts of Mitte, Pankow, Tempelhof-Schöneberg, Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf and Lichtenberg invite you to a virtual discussion event on the topic of Urban Gardening. The heart of the discourse is the design of a sustainable and climate-smart city for all. How can urban gardening as an integral part of urban development contribute to a climate-friendly and resilient global urban development?
This question and more will be discussed by the following guests:
Stefan Tidow, Berlin State Secretary for the Environment and Climate Protection
Dr. Elisabeth Meyer-Renschhausen, Free University of Berlin
Virginia Boye, World Acre Berlin (tbc.)
Paul Yeboah, Ghana Permaculture Institute
Note: The panel will kick off a three-day digital Connective Cities Dialogue event, in which concrete project partnerships between municipalities from the global south and Germany will be discussed and established. A first impression of the topic is offered by the video contribution about allotment gardens of the district office Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69jKSmA9P8c.
